Heritage Open Days 2015
8th September 2015
This weekend members of the public will have an opportunity to step back in time and discover some ofExeter’s hidden history with a series of tours at Exeter Cathedral.
Grandisson: a man and his chapel (10th, 11th and 13th September 2015) is a popular tour (back by popular demand) that will give an insight into Exeter’s 14th century bishop who oversaw the completion of this great building.
New for 2015 is the Exeter Dissenters Tour (12th September, supported by the Exeter Dissenters’ Graveyard Trust). Devised by Exeter Cathedral’s Education Department, this tour and theatrical performance will introduce local historical characters from the 18th and 19th centuries who turned their back on the traditional prescription of worship at the Cathedral and have come to be buried in the Dissenter’s Graveyard on Bull Meadow Road.
