Meet the artist: Via Crucis
Visitors to Exeter Cathedral have a special opportunity to meet the artist behind the current ‘Via Crucis’ exhibition, which has been on display since early February.
Caroline Waterlow will be in Exeter to talk about her work and its inspiration at 1pm on Wednesday 9th March for the latest of the Cathedral’s Lunchtime Bite events. The series sees speakers give presentations, talks and lectures on a wide range of topics each month as part of the Cathedral’s adult learning programme
‘Via Crucis’ is comprised of 14 images, largely of the tools and objects associated with the passion and death of Jesus. The panels use mixed media (including charcoal, metal leaf, ink and pastel) and are the work of multi-disciplinary artist Caroline Waterlow, herself based in the West Country. Where the traditional Stations emphasise the suffering path of Jesus, this installation follows the gospel accounts of Christ's Passion.
Tickets for for the Lunchtime Bite talk are £5, available from 01392 285983 and online.
