Cloister Club is part of Exeter Cathedral’s Children’s Provision. It is a vibrant and welcoming community for children of all ages. We provide a nurturing environment where children can explore their faith, build friendships, and have fun while their parents enjoy the Cathedral service.
Cloister Club meets during the 10am Sunday Service at Exeter Cathedral each week, during Devon School term times. There are activity sheets to engage and entertain children when Cloister Club is not running.
Cloister Club meets just before the service starts, in the North Nave aisle. Look for our leaders, who will be there to greet and assist you. The Club is run by Kathryn Timms – our Cloister Club Co-ordinator – and a group of volunteer leaders.
Engaging Activities: Our Cloister Club sessions are filled with exciting and age-appropriate activities that encourage learning, creativity, and play.
Music: Children have the opportunity to discover the joy of music through singing, instruments, and actions.
Friendship: Cloister Club is a place where children can connect with peers and form lasting friendships, strengthening their sense of belonging to the Cathedral community.
Spiritual Growth: We aim to nurture each child’s spiritual journey by providing a safe and supportive space for exploration and faith development.
We understand that families have different preferences when it comes to their children’s participation in worship services. Parents are welcome to either accompany their children to Cloister Club or stay in the Cathedral service. However, if your child is under five, we ask you to stay and join in with all that Cloister Club has to offer.
Your child’s safety is our top priority. As such, all of our Cloister Club leaders have undergone enhanced DBS checks, and we maintain a secure environment, to ensure your child’s well-being.
If you have any questions or would like more information about Cloister Club, please don’t hesitate to contact our co-ordinator Kathryn Timms.
We look forward to welcoming you and your child, and helping them to grow in faith and friendship.
At Exeter Cathedral, we love to welcome teenagers into our amazing community.
