It has just been discovered that this rebirth of the Exeter Cathedral Players reaches further back into tradition than we thought. We are told that the wife of Dean Gamble, who died in 1931, instigated drama of the theatrical kind in the Cathedral with a company called Mrs Gamble’s Players.
Following that pioneering venture the latest work around Twelfth Night continues. With two meetings held already we are looking to have further readings and auditions on 7 and 14 June in the Cathedral from 7pm. With James Stevenson as Director, the production is scheduled to be in the Cathedral for four nights from 27 September.
Whatever your interest, be it onstage or backstage, let it be known to either James or David Gunn-Johnson.
