In Conversation with Sarah McIntyre
Sunday 10 November, 6:30pm with optional refreshments served from 6pm
Words, Whiskers and Wonders
Discover the world of church, life and faith as seen through the eyes of artist and children’s book writer/illustrator Sarah McIntyre. Explore her work in The Bovey Bestiary, highlighting the quirky craftsmanship and community of her local church in Bovey Tracey. Find out how she draws hope and courage from the tiny creatures in the stories she creates with Philip Reeve, in their Adventuremice series. Help her imagine a new story set here at Exeter Cathedral, and bring your questions about writing, drawing, and finding inspiration in the world around us.
Join us for this fascinating evening, closing with a short service of (said) compline.
Adventuremice co-authors Philip Reeve and Sarah McIntyre will be available after the event to sign and dedicate books which will be available for sale – or feel free to bring your own. Discover more about the books at here.
About Sarah McIntyre:
Instantly recognisable in her pointy specs, Sarah McIntyre creates books and artwork in her studio at Bovey Paradiso arts centre. She has written and illustrated solo picture books including Grumpycorn (recently read on CBeebies Bedtime Story by Kate Winslet) and Dinosaur Firefighters. She works together with Philip Reeve on longer – still highly illustrated – books including Oliver and the Seawigs, Pugs of the Frozen North and more recently, the award-winning Adventuremice series.
All are welcome to attend this event.
