Exeter Cathedral’s Library and Archives is involved in a number of research projects of international significance.
Imprint
Imprint is an AHRC-funded collaborative project between the University of Lincoln and the Aberystwyth University. It merges cutting-edge forensic techniques with traditional historical investigation to analyse the fingerprints and palm prints found on the back of wax seals. The team has visited Exeter Cathedral, using their equipment to image seals and help out by recording conservation issues or repackaging items in the collection. Read more about Imprint

This project website will eventually include a complete digital facsimile and new codicological and palaeographical descriptions of the manuscript, a full new text and translation. Samples of this material will be made available as the work progresses.
The project is funded by the AHRC (2014-2017) and is a collaboration between scholars from the King’s College London, the University of Oxford, and the Friends and Dean and Chapter of Exeter Cathedral.
