The first in a series of seminars on the Art of the Book, from Exeter Cathedral’s Library and Archives.
1,000 Years of Bookbinding invites you to take a closer look at some of the Cathedral’s most beautiful bindings, from medieval tawed sheepskin to gorgeous gold-tooled goatskin and polished tree-stained calf. Discover how bindings have been made across the centuries and what they can tell us about books and their owners.
