Exeter Philharmonic Choir – Carols in the Cathedral
Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 18 December 2024, 7:30pm–9:15pm. Doors open at 6:45pm.
Join Exeter Philharmonic Choir at its ever-popular two nights of ‘Carols in the Cathedral’, on Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 18 December. The glorious voice of soprano soloist Milly Forrest and brilliance of trumpeters Cameron Todd and Fraser Tannock will add extra sparkle to the evening. The theme is ‘A Devon Christmas’ and local historian Todd Gray will add his reflections on seasonal celebrations past and present.
On the menu will be both traditional and newer carols, including music by Handel. The centrepiece will be A Winter’s Night, a short cantata by composer Cecilia McDowall that recreates some familiar carols in a new form. As usual, the audience will have plenty of opportunity to join in singing some well-known Christmas music.
