Library and Archives Christmas In Focus: Picturing the Nativity

For centuries, artists and printmakers have imagined the nativity of Jesus, based on accounts in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke. Representations in art may focus on Mary and the infant Jesus, the annunciation of the shepherds or the adoration of the wise men while others combine several narratives in one image. Start your Christmas with some seasonal treasures from the Cathedral Library.
