Exeter Philharmonic Choir: Mozart Great Mass in C minor

Exeter Philharmonic Choir: Mozart Great Mass in C minor

Saturday 15 March at 7:30pm

Mozart Great Mass in C minor; Violin Concerto No. 1 in B flat major

This All-Mozart concert from Exeter Philharmonic Choir promises to be a magical experience, with sublime music performed by a top-flight orchestra, four superb vocal soloists, a young solo violinist and double choir.

Making a welcome return to Exeter Cathedral to support Exeter Philharmonic Choir will be the renowned London Mozart Players.

Among the outstanding soloists will be three with local connections: rising star violinist Joel Munday, who grew up in Devon, will play Mozart’s rarely performed 1st Violin Concerto; Soprano Daisy Walford was a chorister at Exeter Cathedral; and bass Tim Mirfin lives in Devon.

The climax of the evening will be the glorious Great Mass in C minor, described by Exeter Philharmonic Choir’s director of music, Howard Ionascu, as “a cornerstone of the choral repertoire that contains some of Mozart’s most imaginative writing”.
